**What is included in a monthly SEO retainer?**

The agreement selects work across technical SEO, commercial content, internal links, AI search visibility and enquiry-path improvements. Each month has an approved priority list, delivery notes, a performance review and next steps. Capacity and responsibilities are written down; every possible service is not automatically included each month.

**How much does ongoing SEO cost in the UK?**

Maksut retainers start at £1,500 per month. The current planning range is £1,500–£4,000 monthly, depending on the site, markets, technical work and content responsibility. Your proposal states the monthly fee, capacity, any onboarding or third-party costs and applicable taxes before work starts.

**What happens in the first month?**

We confirm access and measurement, review important pages and technical issues, agree the initial priorities and begin the work that fits the approved capacity. The first review records changes, unresolved dependencies and the next priorities. Exact milestones depend on the site and proposal; a first-month ranking or sales result is not promised.

**Is there a minimum term or cancellation notice?**

The usual initial term is three months. Your proposal confirms the start date, minimum term, renewal and cancellation notice before you commit. At a scope review we decide whether to continue, change the capacity or conclude the engagement; notice follows the agreed terms.

**Do you include AI SEO, GEO and AEO each month?**

AI search work can form part of the agreed roadmap: a defined question sample, cited-source review, content gaps and technical improvements. Reporting separates sampled mentions and citations from referral visits and qualified enquiries. For a standalone AI visibility audit or implementation project, use the AI SEO service instead.

**Can you implement the work on WordPress or WooCommerce?**

Yes. Agreed technical changes and page improvements can be implemented directly, with appropriate staging and review. Larger plugin builds, migrations or redesigns receive a separate scope. If your team handles development, I can provide implementation briefs and review the agreed changes.

**Who writes and approves the content?**

The proposal states who researches, briefs, drafts, edits and publishes each piece. You provide business knowledge and approve factual or brand-sensitive claims. Existing pages are refreshed where useful; a fixed article quota is not a substitute for a relevant commercial purpose.

**Are link building, ads and website maintenance included?**

Paid advertising, a guaranteed backlink quota, hosting, premium licences and operational website care are outside the standard scope unless explicitly listed. WordPress updates, backups, security response and WooCommerce transaction checks belong in a care plan. Any additional outreach or specialist work needs an agreed scope and budget.

**How are progress and return on investment measured?**

The monthly review covers completed work, relevant Search Console trends, landing-page behaviour and enquiries where tracking allows. You help qualify leads and connect sales in your CRM. Revenue attribution can be incomplete; AI citations and rankings are diagnostic signals, not proof of return on investment.

**What happens to unused capacity or urgent requests?**

If a task is blocked, we can move to the next approved priority. Carry-over, client delays and extra capacity follow the written agreement and are recorded in the review. Urgent SEO work may replace a planned task by agreement. The retainer does not provide an unlimited task queue or emergency hosting cover.

**Do you work with UK agencies and businesses outside the UK?**

Yes. Maksut is an independent developer and SEO consultant based in Istanbul, working remotely with UK and European teams and suitable clients worldwide. Agency collaboration, access, confidentiality, approvals and reporting ownership are agreed at the start.

**Can you guarantee more leads or a specific ranking?**

No. Search rankings, AI answers and sales decisions are outside a provider’s control. The engagement defines the work, capacity and review process. We use the evidence to decide what to improve next and whether continued investment is justified.
