ONE PLAN FOR LIVE STORES

## WooCommerce care, *scoped to your store.*

A purchase involves more than a page loading. Your care plan identifies the paths, payment methods and integrations that need checking, then gives those checks a clear owner.

The review confirms store complexity, transaction frequency and the coverage you need. Subscriptions, memberships, multiple stores and external integrations are assessed explicitly.

The proposal sets the fee, working hours, response target, billing terms, applicable taxes and any separate onboarding, hosting or licence costs.

WHAT WE CHECK

## Care for the path *your customers actually use.*

We agree the relevant scenarios at onboarding and repeat them on the agreed schedule and after in-scope changes affecting the buying path.

01 / CHECKOUT

### Can the customer complete the journey?

Review product selection, cart, checkout rendering and the configured shipping, tax and payment options. Agree which devices, gateways and customer scenarios are covered.

02 / ORDERS

### Does the order reach the right place?

Check the expected order status, confirmation workflow and relevant inventory or fulfilment handoff. Additional integrations need named test cases.

03 / UPDATES

### Does the update fit the store?

Review WordPress, WooCommerce, theme and extension changes as a set. Test the agreed workflows on staging before a controlled production release.

04 / MONITORING

### What needs attention next?

Review security and availability signals alongside store findings. The summary records changes, exceptions, deferred updates and actions needing approval.

Payment tests use supported sandbox or test modes where appropriate. Any live transaction needs a separately agreed procedure for charges, emails, stock, fulfilment and cleanup. No universal transaction test is assumed for every gateway.

ORDERS KEEP CHANGING

## A backup is a starting point. *Recovery needs a plan.*

A full database restore can replace orders, customer changes and stock movements created after that backup. Recovery decisions must account for the store’s latest activity.

1. 01

   ### Agree the recovery point

Choose backup frequency, retention and storage around transaction activity and the hosting capabilities available.
2. 02

   ### Plan the release

Identify the changed files and data, an appropriate update window, restore access and rollback options.
3. 03

   ### Protect recent activity

A suitable code rollback may avoid replacing the database. Database-changing updates need their own recovery decision; zero data loss is not promised.

TAKING OVER YOUR STORE

## Start with the setup. *Agree the checks before care begins.*

01 / REVIEW

### Understand the store

Review the theme, extensions, hosting, payment methods, backups and known issues. Existing malware, severe breakage or a major upgrade backlog receives a separate scope.

02 / PREPARE

### Set the baseline

Confirm suitable staging, recovery access and test scenarios. Resolve environment limitations and record the expected buying path before updates begin.

03 / MAINTAIN

### Release and review

Run the agreed update cycle, check the affected paths and document findings. Escalate issues within the agreed support coverage.

**When checkout fails:** report the affected payment method, journey and business impact. A four-business-hour initial response target applies only where agreed at onboarding. It covers acknowledgement and initial diagnosis, not guaranteed resolution or a staffed 24/7 desk.

WHEN YOU NEED A DIFFERENT SCOPE

## Maintenance, performance *and new development.*

### A slow store

Care can surface a bottleneck. Deeper checkout latency, query or scaling work needs a focused investigation.

### A new capability

Custom checkout, plugins, integrations and redesigns need defined development deliverables.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE STORE CARE

## Practical *store-owner questions.*

Costs, testing, recovery and support coverage.

**What does WooCommerce maintenance include?**

The plan covers controlled WordPress, WooCommerce and extension updates, agreed checkout and payment checks, order-workflow review, backup and recovery planning, security and uptime monitoring, and a store-health summary. Your proposal defines the gateways, integrations, test cases and check frequency included.

**How much does WooCommerce maintenance cost in the UK?**

WooCommerce Care starts at £440 per month. Store complexity, integrations and coverage requirements determine the final scope. The proposal confirms the recurring fee, any initial remediation, hosting or licence costs, applicable taxes and billing terms before care begins.

**Why does my store need more than a WordPress care plan?**

A homepage can load while a payment method, shipping option or order workflow fails. WooCommerce Care adds checks for the buying path and recovery planning for changing order data. Starter and Business WordPress Care are intended for non-store sites.

**Do you test checkout and payment gateways?**

Yes, within the agreed test plan. Checks can cover product selection, cart, configured payment methods, shipping and tax behaviour, order creation and confirmation emails. Gateway test mode or a sandbox is used where supported. Any live transaction needs an explicitly agreed procedure covering charges, fulfilment, stock and cleanup.

**Are WooCommerce updates tested on staging?**

Staging-first review is part of the store-care process. We establish an appropriate test environment during onboarding, review the proposed update set and check the agreed purchase paths before production release. If staging is missing or unsuitable, its setup or limitations are resolved in the scope before update work starts.

**Will restoring a backup lose recent orders?**

A full database restore can overwrite orders, stock changes or customer activity recorded after that backup. Recovery planning considers your transaction frequency, backup capability and acceptable recovery point. A suitable code rollback may avoid a full database restore, but database-changing updates can require a different recovery plan. Zero data loss is not guaranteed.

**What happens if checkout breaks?**

Report the affected journey, payment method and business impact through the agreed support channel. The first steps are acknowledgement, diagnosis and an appropriate rollback or recovery decision. A four-business-hour initial response target can apply where agreed at onboarding; this is not a promise to resolve every issue within four hours or a staffed 24/7 service.

**Can you maintain subscriptions, memberships or store integrations?**

These can be assessed during the store review. Renewal payments, member access, stock feeds, fulfilment and ERP integrations need their own test cases and responsibilities. They are included only where the proposal names them; complex or multiple-store setups may need a separate scope.

**Can you take over an existing store?**

Yes, after reviewing its theme, extensions, hosting, gateways, backups and existing issues. You receive the findings and any initial remediation scope before recurring care starts. Severe breakage, malware or a large upgrade backlog is not automatically absorbed into the monthly fee.

**Is hosting or premium extension licensing included?**

Not unless the proposal says so. Your existing hosting is reviewed for staging, access and recovery suitability. Hosting, domains, gateway fees and premium licences remain separate costs; a hosting move is not assumed.

**Does the plan include speed optimisation or custom development?**

Routine store-health review can identify a slow checkout or extension problem. Deeper performance engineering, new features, custom plugins, redesigns and new integrations are separately scoped. Ongoing SEO and content work also have a separate engagement.

**Is this a maintenance-mode plugin or a support subscription?**

This is a managed maintenance service for an existing store. Maintenance mode is a temporary storefront setting used during some work; it is not the service itself. The proposal confirms billing, any minimum term, cancellation notice and handover. Sending an enquiry does not start recurring billing.
